William
Karl Thoms' diverse talents and colorful life have found expression in a variety of venues. The
combination of technical curiosity and social sensitivity led him to the mediums of photo
journalism, feature films, and literature. From humble beginnings as a cocktail pianist in New
Orleans French Quarter, his life spans most of the 20th century and spills over into the media
explosion of contemporary times.
Thomas has collaborated with and worked for and beside many of the icons of
the 20th century: Lenny Bruce, Frank Sinatra, the Rat Pack, and many lesser known shapers of
modern society such as Frank Ray Perelli, Sally Marr, Libby Clark, and others. His person and
his work was instrumental in their careers and in their influence upon the life and values we live
today. In his works he reveals them with compassion and appreciation of all he learned from them
while contributing to their work and success.
This website is offered to those who might like to know more about the man
